In-vessel composting plant has been successfully installed at the Zemamra Site

Task 2: Design and construction of an innovative sludge aerobic composting system

The design and construction of the composting in-vessel systems took place at the premises of the National Technical University of Athens in Greece.

 

Task 1: Assessment of the existing situation in Morocco and in the EU has been successfully completed.  In particular the following have been produced:

  1. Assessment of the existing situation in Morocco with regard to sludge and other BOW generation and of the existing management schemes, systems and practices
  2. Assessment of the existing situation in the European Union regarding sludge generation and management (treatment, reuse and disposal)
  3. Assessment of the existing situation in the European Union regarding BOW management (treatment, reuse and disposal)  
  4. Review of sludge and other BOW composting practices in the European Union and related success stories on composting.

The design and construction of the composting in-vessel systems is taking place at the premises of the National Technical University of Athens in Greece.
